(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen rejected claims made by Thai media that he had departed Cambodia for China.

Samdech Techo wrote on his social media on Thursday (Jul. 24).

“Earlier today, a Thai newspaper reported that I had left Cambodia for China. I would like to clarify that I am currently participating in military operations via video communication and other digital systems, alongside the prime minister, the minister of national defence, the commander-in-chief, and commanders of all branches of the armed forces, in response to Thai aggression. I have not fled anywhere. Please, fellow citizens, do not worry.

I have remained stationed here since the moment the commander of Thailand’s Second Army Region announced the closure of access to the Ta Moan Thom Temple.

The commander of Thailand’s Second Army Region is the one who initiated this conflict by ordering the closure of the temple yesterday, and opening fire on Cambodian troops this morning.

This same individual who once threatened to invade Cambodia within just three days. I would genuinely like to see what sort of military strategy he possesses that could achieve such an objective in that time.

As for the Thai politicians and media, their deliberate spread of false information appears to have become a norm. Go ahead and continue deceiving the public, it’s what you seem to do best.

“Don’t Thai to me!””
