(Phnom Penh): In response to provocative actions by a small extremist group in Thailand, at 10:20 a.m. on Friday (Jun. 13), Cambodia decided to completely suspend the import of Thai goods through the Doung International Border Checkpoint, located in Kamrieng District, Battambang Province, opposite the Ban Laem International Checkpoint in Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province, Thailand.

Officials stationed at the border checkpoint told Fresh News on Friday (Jun. 13) that, following directives from senior leadership, both border officials and local authorities at Doung decided to halt the entry of all Thai goods into Cambodia entirely.

According to an announcement by the General Department of Immigration, the move aims to safeguard national security and public safety. The department confirmed that the Doung International Border Checkpoint will be completely closed to Thai goods from 13 June 2025 until further notice.

However, officials at the Doung checkpoint clarified that citizens from both countries are still permitted to cross the border as usual during designated hours.
