(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts announced a suspension of the import and screening of Thai films in all cinemas across Cambodia, effective from 12:00 noon on 13 June 2025.

“We hereby inform all film distribution companies and cinema owners that, starting from 12:00 noon on 13 June 2025, all film distributors and cinemas in the Kingdom of Cambodia must cease the import and screening of Thai films at their theatres and in any other locations without exception,” according to the announcement seen by Fresh News on Friday (Jun. 13).

Taking this occasion, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts called on all film distributors and cinema owners to cooperate and implement the measure with a strong sense of responsibility.
