(Nice): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Minister of Justice of Belgium Annelies Verlinden on 10 June 2025 on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).

During the meeting, Annelies Verlinden expressed her deep gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for allowing her and her delegation to pay a courtesy call on. She conveyed her satisfaction with the strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and highly appreciated the excellent cooperation between their respective Ministries of Justice, particularly the progress made in negotiating a bilateral agreement in the field of justice.

In response, Samdech Thipadei expressed his pleasure at the strong partnership between Cambodia and Belgium. He thanked the Belgian government and people for their contributions in areas such as mine clearance, education, and support for the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also underscored the importance of bilateral consultation mechanisms between the two countries’ foreign ministries in further enhancing and broadening cooperation across various sectors. He went on to express his appreciation for the collaboration between the two justice ministries and encouraged them to complete the necessary internal procedures leading to the signing of the already finalised agreement.
