(Phnom Penh): From Nice, France, on Tuesday (Jun. 10), Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet questioned the sincerity of certain politicians who profess to be patriots, yet when the nation faces threats, they readily serve as agents of foreign propaganda against their own country.

Samdech Thipadei wrote on his social media on Tuesday (Jun. 10) as follows:

"Dear compatriots, please consider this: there are politicians who loudly proclaim their patriotism. But when our country is under threat from external forces, they rush to echo and disseminate foreign propaganda—particularly false or distorted information crafted and broadcast with the intention of launching psychological attacks against our nation. Is this truly the behaviour of a patriot? Or is it merely a cynical political ploy, carried out without understanding the nation's situation and timing? I urge all Cambodians to reflect deeply on this matter."

Recently, opposition party activist and president of the Global Cambodian Youth Network in Thailand, Em Piseth, was reported to have impersonated a military officer by wearing a military uniform and recording a fabricated video depicting border situations. The video was designed to mislead the public and demoralize the armed forces. He disseminated the falsified video through a TikTok account named 'Amy Richard310' and a Facebook account under the name 'Piseth P G EM', targeting frontline troops.
