(Banteay Meanchey & Oddar Meanchey): On Sunday morning (Jun. 8), the Poipet International Border Gate in Banteay Meanchey Province officially reopened for citizens of both Cambodia and Thailand to cross.

However, it is noteworthy that Thailand has unilaterally adjusted the operating hours at all international checkpoints. These gates will now be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while all bilateral border crossings remain closed.

In neighbouring Oddar Meanchey Province, Thailand has further imposed restrictions by unilaterally closing all three major border checkpoints starting Sunday (Jun. 8), limiting their operations to only three days per week.

According to Fresh News correspondent Ngan Senglong, who spoke with officials at the respective gates:

- O’Smach International Border Gate (Samraong Town): Closed by Thai authorities on the morning of 8 June. It will now operate only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- Choam International Border Gate (Anlong Veng District): Also unilaterally closed by Thailand on the same day. It will follow the same schedule as O’Smach – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- Chub Koki Border Gate (Banteay Ampil District): Similarly closed on 8 June, with new limited operating days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

These unilateral decisions by the Thai side have significantly impacted cross-border movement and raised concerns among local residents and traders relying on daily passage.
