(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, extended warm greetings and well-wishes to all military and armed forces stationed at the frontline. He also made an appeal to the Red Cross in Preah Vihear province to assist displaced individuals and ensure the safety of civilians.
Samdech Techo spoke on Thursday (May 29) in a special statement addressing the recent armed clash between Cambodian and Thai forces at the Emerald Triangle border area, Preah Vihear province.
Samdech Techo stated, “I wish to send my greetings to all military personnel and armed forces safeguarding the border, and also to our fellow citizens living along the frontier. Please remain calm but vigilant. I urge the authorities in Preah Vihear, along with the Red Cross present there, to take responsibility in assisting displaced persons relocated to safer locations to ensure public safety.”
On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also called on the Cambodian public to support the troops, highlighting national unity and the spirit of patriotism. “I call upon the Cambodian people to provide additional support to our troops. Of course, we are not in a state of shortage, but this gesture represents solidarity and reinforces the people's commitment to national defence,” he said.
