(Kuala Lumpur): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met Datuk Hanifah Noordin, CEO of MMAG Holdings Berhad and NexG Berhad, on 27 May 2025 on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
During the meeting, the CEO expressed his gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for allowing him and his delegation to pay a courtesy call.
He briefed the prime minister on the companies’ operations, highlighting their expertise in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, particularly in digital security. The companies are currently active in Malaysia and several other countries in the region. He further noted that they are involved in logistics operations at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport and are exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia, especially in digital security and expanded logistics services.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his pleasure in meeting the CEO and welcomed the companies’ interest in investing in Cambodia.
Samdech Thipadei underscored the Royal Government’s priority policies supporting the logistics sector, including infrastructure development projects such as the expansion of the Sihanoukville deep-sea port into a regional logistics hub, along with the construction of new airports and road networks.
Samdech Thipadei also highlighted the establishment of special economic zones based on specific industries and strategic partner countries. He reaffirmed the government's support for foreign investors through policies that foster a favourable investment climate and streamlined procedures, particularly in the logistics sector. Regarding the digital sector, he emphasised the Royal Government’s strong commitment, noting that the 7th legislature of the National Assembly has identified digital transformation as a top priority.
On the occasion, the premier encouraged the companies to continue engaging with the relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to explore concrete investment opportunities in the kingdom.
