(Kuala Lumpur): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held a working meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday (May 27) on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
During the meeting, President Marcos expressed his satisfaction with the strong and growing ties between the two countries and highlighted his desire to further strengthen and expand bilateral trade relations.
Samdech Thipadei thanked the government and people of the Philippines for their warm hospitality during his official visit to the Philippines earlier this year. He also expressed his appreciation for the continued growth of Cambodia–Philippines relations and welcomed the joint pursuit of new initiatives aimed at deepening and expanding bilateral trade.
Both sides also discussed key areas of potential cooperation, including digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), support for Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), e-commerce, healthcare services, tourism, as well as security and national defence. Both leaders agreed to assign the relevant ministries and agencies in each country with continuing in-depth discussions on these priority areas, with the objective of translating shared aspirations into tangible outcomes.
