(Kuala Lumpur): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held a working meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday (May 27) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.

During the meeting, Premier Li Qiang expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to meet and hold discussions with Prime Minister Hun Manet once again. He highlighted that the frequent high-level exchanges between the two nations demonstrate the strength and steady growth of the long-standing ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet conveyed his delight at reconnecting with the Chinese premier and reaffirmed the importance of continued high-level engagement in advancing bilateral ties. He also expressed high appreciation for the recent state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Cambodia in April 2025, noting that the visit significantly strengthened and broadened the Cambodia-China partnership.

Both leaders praised the ongoing development of bilateral relations and welcomed the elevation of their ties to a Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era in the new era. They agreed to further deepen cooperation across all sectors by translating joint plans into tangible outcomes.

In particular, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in key sectors including economy, trade, investment, national defence and security, education, technology, industry, and agriculture. This enhanced collaboration will be advanced through initiatives like the Industrial Development Corridor and the Fish and Rice Corridor.

Additionally, both leaders agreed to promote people-to-people exchanges, boost tourism, and expand direct air connectivity between Cambodia and China.
