Kampong Cham (FN), Dec. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet explained that Cambodia’s term "blooming flowers" symbolises the flourishing of services, benefits, and development.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Dec. 21) at the inauguration ceremony declaring Kampong Cham Province as completing systematic land measurement and title deed distribution.

The term "blooming flowers" has frequently appeared on social media, notably in posts by Sam Rainsy, as a call for a revolutionary movement. This concept has reportedly been used in various countries to incite uprisings. Prime Minister Hun Manet condemned these efforts, accusing them of attempting to disrupt Cambodia’s peace.

“Samdech Techo Hun Sen has already addressed the issue of 'blooming flowers.' Certain political figures abroad are advocating for 'blooming flowers' to instigate revolution. They often reference revolutions in the Middle East, colour revolutions, lotus revolutions, and other movements. However, in Cambodia, our 'blooming flowers' represent the blooming of peace, the win-win policy, and the development of our nation,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued, “Our 'blooming flowers' are about smiles, fostering love among people, unity, and preserving our achievements. In contrast, the so-called 'blooming flowers' of anger, rebellion, and anti-government sentiment are dangerous. I urge citizens not to follow this destructive path but instead to support the genuine 'blooming flowers' that serve the people and contribute to the nation’s prosperity.”

At the same time, the premier also called on citizens to trust the Royal Government, led by the Cambodian People’s Party, asserting that it prioritises the people’s interests and continues to build and develop the country. The premier urged the public to support the government’s leadership and refrain from participating in activities that harm the nation.

On 18 December 2024, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, highlighted that in Cambodia, "blooming flowers" occur daily, symbolising continuous achievements across all sectors. He added that even the COVID19 vaccination campaign was carried out under the "blooming flowers" approach.
