Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 20 – After attending Cambodia-Japan 2nd Senior Officials’ Talk on 18 December 2024, Funakoshi Takehiro, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affair of Japan, paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn during which he conveyed a cordial message of felicitation from Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi.

"Minister Prak Sokhonn informed the visiting Japanese official that he looked forward to working closely with Minister Iwaya to further enhance Cambodia-Japan relations and cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Friday (Dec. 20).

“Minister Prak Sokhonn thanked Japan for attending the 5th Review Conference of the Ottawa Convention in Siem Reap in November this year and for the good cooperation with Cambodia in the area of mine actions. He touched on cooperation in areas of strategic interest and applauded the fruitful outcome of Cambodia-Japan 2nd Senior Officials’ Talk. He also exchanged views with Funakoshi on international and regional developments."
