Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 18 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), outlined six key recommendations for the CPP leaders to prioritise. These serve as guidelines for further implementation and are directed particularly at the Party's mass movement committees at all levels.
Samdech Techo spoke on Wednesday (Dec. 18) during a closing conference on 2024 achievements and future directions for CPP Mass Movement Committee, held at the CPP’s headquarter.
The six recommendations are as follows:
1. Maintain Peace and Stability: Continue preserving Cambodia’s hard-won peace and stability while building on existing achievements to create new benefits for the nation and its people.
2. Strengthen Organisational Capacity: Enhance and expand the designated organisations of the Party, improving the roles, duties, and working methods of mass movement committees at all levels to boost efficiency. Focus on training and capacity-building for Party officials, both trainers and focal points, across the capital and provinces. This will ensure effective implementation of tasks and timely responses to the people’s needs. Additionally, all Party organisations should collaborate to support mass movement committees, reinforcing the Party’s strength to secure victories in the 2027, 2028, and subsequent elections.
3. Adapt to Changing Dynamics: In light of increasingly complex national and international situations and rapidly evolving public expectations, Party officials, especially mass movement committees and subordinate departments, must enhance political awareness and public outreach. Implement proactive and reactive public opinion strategies by monitoring social media and grassroots sentiments. Conduct regular surveys to understand public interests, expectations, and satisfaction levels with the Royal Government and the Party. Remember that “trust and confidence from the people must be built continuously over time.” Comprehensive, scientific research into public opinion should remain a priority.
4. Promote Social Solidarity: Cultivate social unity and foster positive thinking among the population. Strengthen connections between Party officials and the public by enhancing coordination with ministries, institutions, and state units at all levels. Improve traditional and digital public relations, embracing new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) to boost confidence in the Party and the Royal Government.
5. Advance Reform Efforts: Continue reforms in both the Party and the state, ensuring they progress in tandem. Prioritise the implementation of the Party’s political programme and the first phase of the Royal Government’s five-pronged strategy. Focus on resolving socio-economic issues caused by the COVID19 crisis to alleviate economic pressures on families and improve citizens' daily lives.
6. Strengthen International Relations: Enhance relations and cooperation with neighbouring and friendly countries, fostering diplomacy, peace, and friendship through mass movements, people-to-people exchanges, and youth collaboration. Uphold principles of peace, respect for independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality, and mutual benefits.
