Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 19 – Following the conclusion of the Standing Committee meeting on Tuesday morning (Nov. 19), the National Assembly has scheduled the third session of the 7th legislature to reconvene on the morning of 20 November 2024. The session will include a vote on amendments and the appointment of additional members to the Royal Government, including changes to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The National Assembly is expected to vote in favour of appointing Prak Sokhonn as Minister of Foreign Affairs, replacing Sok Chenda Sophea.

In continuation of the third session of the National Assembly of the 7th legislature, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has outlined four agenda items as follows:

1. Vote of confidence on amendments and the appointment of two additional members to the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

2. Discussion and approval of the draft law regarding the withdrawal of the Agreement on the Trade Promotion and Facilitation for Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA).

3. Discussion and approval of the draft law on Payment of the General State Budget for Management in 2023.

4. Discussion and approval of the draft law on Budget Management 2025.
