Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 8 – Senior Colonel Wu Qian, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence (MND) of the People's Republic of China (PRC), led a six-member military delegation on Friday (Nov. 8) to the Fresh News headquarters.
The purpose of the visit was to exchange experiences and learn about the operational strategies behind Fresh News' success, in discussions with Lim Cheavutha, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fresh News.
Lim Cheavutha, also CEO of CoolApp, warmly welcomed the Chinese Defence Ministry delegation along with Fresh News’ management team and staff.
During the visit, Wu Qian expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to visit Fresh News in Cambodia. He engaged in a dialogue with Lim Cheavutha, focusing on the major factors contributing to Fresh News' achievements and its experiences in the media industry.
Lim Cheavutha outlined three main factors contributing to Fresh News' growth including his two decades of experience in the media sector, his expertise in technology, and the support of a professional team, including dedicated leaders, officers, and advisors from various fields.
Lim Cheavutha also provided a brief history of Fresh News, noting that the organisation was founded a decade ago and has since grown rapidly, especially through digital and social media platforms. He underlined that Fresh News operates in three languages—Khmer, English, and Chinese—and frequently covers topics on Cambodia-China cooperation as well as key events in China.
After an extensive exchange, Wu Qian summarised Fresh News' success into three core strengths including expertise in information, advanced technological understanding, and an insightful perspective on political matters.
Wu Qian thanked Lim Cheavutha for sharing his experiences, affirming his support for Fresh News as a leading Cambodian news outlet. He also encouraged Fresh News to continue promoting activities of the Chinese Ministry of Defence to enhance mutual understanding.
It should be noted that the Chinese Ministry of Defence spokesperson is visiting Cambodia from 7-9 November 2024.
