Yunnan (FN), Nov. 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh during their participation in the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit on 6-7 November 2024 in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.

On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese government and authorities for facilitating the “Great Khmer Family Solidarity Kathina” procession to Wat Por Kiri Vongsaram (also known as Wat Svay Siem Thmey) in Tra Vinh Province, Viet Nam, led by Samdech Kittipritthbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross.

Samdech Thipadei highlighted the growth in Cambodia-Viet Nam relations, particularly in trade and economic cooperation. In fact, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries in the first ten months of 2024 has significantly increased compared to the same period in 2023.

In response, the Vietnamese Prime Minister praised Cambodia’s progress and development under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei, despite global economic pressures. He noted that Cambodia's international reputation has also been further enhanced.

He also expressed satisfaction with the successful and safe procession of the “Great Khmer Family Solidarity Kathina” to Wat Por Kiri Vongsaram in Viet Nam.

Both leaders discussed the further strengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors, including tourism, infrastructure connectivity, energy, people-to-people exchanges, education, youth, and culture.
