Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 7 – Cambodian Rice Federation announced that in the first ten months of 2024, Cambodia exported 507,029 tons of milled rice, earning more than USD 376 million.

According to the Cambodian Rice Federation, these exports were carried out by 55 rice exporters to 66 destinations, of which to 26 European countries, totalled to 254,945 tons of rice, valued at USD 196.93 million. Meanwhile, China, including Hong Kong and Macau, received 93,197 tons worth USD 61.48 million. ASEAN countries, including East Timor, imported 100,996 tons valued at USD 66.61 million, while 30 other countries—Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.—imported 57,891 tons worth USD 51.61 million.

Of the rice exported, fragrant rice accounted for 73.21 per cent, white rice 21.71 per cent, parboiled rice 3.04 per cent, organic rice 1.74 per cent, and other varieties 0.30 per cent.

Notably, total rice exports in the first seven months reached 4,036,336 tons, generating over USD 1,184.16 million.
