Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 30 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed that the Royal Government of the seventh mandate will continue to focus on and support sports reform, including developing sports infrastructure and enhancing achievements in sports to foster greater support and enthusiasm.
The premier spoke on Wednesday (Oct. 30) at the opening of the 4th National Games and the 2nd Para Games at Olympic National Stadium, Phnom Penh.
"The Royal Government of the seventh mandate remains committed to advancing sports reform, including the development of sports infrastructure, to boost achievements that attract more support and enthusiasm, especially in competitions at national and international levels," the premier underscored.
Samdech Thipadei continued that the organisation of the 4th National Games and the 2nd Para Games is a new opportunity, showcasing the growth and development of sports in Cambodia and our readiness to host the 5th Asian Youth Games and the 6th Asian Youth Para Games in 2029.
On the occasion, the premier also highlighted that hosting sports events brings multiple benefits to society, including political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and tourism advantages, while enhancing Cambodia's national image and trade market. This is another step forward in demonstrating Cambodia's solidarity and economic strength.
