Mondulkiri (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed that over the past 25 years, the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area cooperation (CLV-DTA) has not resulted in Cambodia losing even a millimeter of its territory, nor has it required the application of any foreign laws within Cambodian territory.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Oct. 24) during the inauguration of O’ Te Dam in Mondulkiri province.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that the CLV-DTA, initiated in 1999 under Samdech Techo Hun Sen, was established with the primary goal of fostering development. He added that cooperation in the northeastern provinces does not compromise national sovereignty or territorial integrity.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm that throughout 25 years of development cooperation, Cambodia has not ceded its sovereignty or allowed the laws of any other country to be applied within its borders. In Mondulkiri, for example, no foreign laws have been imposed. Only individuals who cross into our territory are subject to our immigration laws, with mutual respect and adherence to the rules."

In addition, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet addressed the baseless claims made by some extremist politicians, who continued to criticise the Royal Government of Cambodia despite its clear completion of the procedures to withdraw from the DTA. He condemned their ongoing efforts to incite the public by falsely accusing the government of not having withdrawn.
