Mondulkiri (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underscored that the success of development policies is measured not just by plans, but practical achievements on the ground, speaking on Thursday (Oct. 24) during the inauguration of O’ Te Dam in Mondulkiri province.
"I have already mentioned since the beginning of my mandate that the perfect policy is not important factor. It is only 40 to 50 percent good. However, what determines the success is the actual result on the ground, and the achievements that truly benefit the people," Samdech Thipadei underscored.
Premier Hun Manet explained that the success of a development policy is not merely reflected in pictures on paper or on Facebook, but in tangible outcomes that the people can experience, such as the inauguration of the O’ Te Dam. He added that the focus must be on delivering real results that people can use and benefit from.
On the occasion, the premier noted that addressing the needs of the people is not limited to one area, nor can all issues be solved in a single day. Progress must be made step by step. He highlighted that in the past 25 years, Cambodia has continuously moved forward after the war, during a time when there were few people and few roads to connect them. The Royal Government has since worked to connect roads to kindergartens, secondary schools, universities, health centres, and other essential services scattered throughout the country, and these efforts continue.
Samdech Thipadei acknowledged that while these achievements may not fully meet all people’s demands, the progress made over the past 25 years should be recognized. Even these accomplishments fall short of expectations, the Royal Government has not been complacent and will continue to work to solve issues in all areas for the benefit of the people.
Premier also thanked the leaders of ministries, national institutions, sub-national administrations, departments, local authorities, and the armed forces for working together to maintain stability and security, and for contributing to the country’s development and solving various problems for citizens.
