Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet encouraged the Cambodian youth to maintain a positive attitude for the nation’s success. He underlined that instead of seeking to exploit others’ weaknesses or criticise them, young people should focus on building their own capacities, fostering solidarity, and striving to innovate and improve what they have.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Oct. 19) during his meeting with 4,742 Cambodian Red Cross Youth volunteers at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

“If we compete with others, we should not focus on attacking or criticising their weaknesses. Instead, we must look inward, strengthen ourselves, and not claim that what is ours has been taken away. Let us create and promote more of our own work; this is what we call positive thinking. A positive attitude leads to positive actions,” Samdech Thipadei underscored.

Samdech Thipadei added that a negative mindset leads to inaction, where people simply complain and blame others, whether for wanting to take advantage of us or for not caring about the nation. In contrast, those with a positive mindset take action, work together to promote a strong culture, and spread awareness.

Samdech Thipadei continued, “Young people must adopt this positive mindset. If you fear being left behind, don’t sit idly or cry. A positive attitude will lead us to success.”

The premier also stated that if we see another country producing robots, we should not blame our education system, but instead work together to strengthen it—building universities and human resources so that, in the future, we too can produce robots or even spacecraft and crew members.
