Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged young Cambodian Red Cross volunteers to cultivate national unity, promote culture, embrace patriotism, and reject extremist ideologies that could threaten the nation's cohesion.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Oct. 19) during his meeting with 4,742 Cambodian Red Cross Youth volunteers at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

Samdech Thipadei urged young people to think critically, reflect, and research thoroughly before accepting information, to avoid making misguided decisions that could jeopardize national unity.

"Before taking any action, we, as students and intellectuals, must thoroughly research and understand. As Cambodians, our patriotic spirit is essential to protect our nation and uphold national unity. In this digital age, it is crucial to carefully consider the concept of unity, think critically before making decisions, and commit to them with full heart and determination,” Samdech Thipadei underlined.

"Youth hold the power to either preserve national unity or cause its division," the premier stated.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also called on the Cambodian Red Cross youths to prioritize their education, contribute to the preservation and promotion of traditional culture, civilization, and to expand knowledge by learning more about digital information technology and foreign languages, in line with market demands both in Cambodia and globally.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei expressed gratitude to all the volunteers who joined as Red Cross Youth Volunteers, commending their commitment to selflessly contribute their time, energy, and spirit to support society.
