Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 15 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet ordered strict regulation over the use of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces’ (RCAF) license plates, decreeing that only senior officers are permitted to drive vehicles bearing the official RCAF plates.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Oct. 15) during the 30th founding anniversary of the RCAF's Brigade 70 in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated that "I note that the General Department of Technical Equipment of the Ministry of National Defence also issued vehicle identification plates. Therefore, please ensure strict control over both the issuance and use of these plates [...] From now on, only senior officers are authorized to use them."

On the occasion, the premier underlined that some individuals, who are not high-ranking officials, have been using vehicles with RCAF plates and have reportedly behaved in an arrogant and unworthy manner, damaging the reputation of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also called for heightened vigilance in the management of license plates, stressing the need for stricter control over ammunition within military units and ensuring the security of ammunition depots.
