Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 14 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet explained that the reason he steps in to resolve issues or offer recommendations on certain matters is not to take over the responsibilities of civil servants in ministries and institutions, but to simplify processes and expedite problem-solving.

The premier spoke on Monday (Oct. 14) during the 20th anniversary celebration of Cambodia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"I do not take over the duties of every minister; I only encourage them to act. Sometimes I step in to assist, but that is to support our shared mission. Our duty is to serve the nation and our people," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei noted that all ministers have addressed issues in their respective fields, such as the Minister of Mines and Energy, the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Commerce, the Minister of Cult and Religion, the Minister of Tourism, and the Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia.

At the same time, the premier also urged ministers, leaders, and civil servants across ministries and institutions to continue addressing challenges in their areas of responsibility. He stressed the importance of regular monitoring and collaboration across the government to build the nation, serve the people, support the private sector, and create jobs.
