Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that the upcoming Water Festival will be held on a large scale, according to the outcomes of the weekly cabinet meeting seen by Fresh News on Friday (Sep. 27).

According to the press release, Samdech Thipadei urged the National Committee for Organizing National-International Festivals, relevant ministries, and the private sector, particularly the Ministry of Tourism, to collaborate in attracting national and international tourists. He also encouraged neighbouring provinces and cities to organize alternative events to expand tourism offerings and promote local tour packages.

Prime Minister Hun Manet further recommended planning Angkor Sankranti and provincial Sankranti celebrations for 2025 in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), local authorities, and the private sector.

The Water Festival is scheduled for November 14-16, 2024, featuring lantern displays, fireworks, classical and contemporary concerts, and arts performances.
