Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that building human resources is key to strengthening the resilience of Cambodia’s growth and progress. Following the end of the war, the Cambodian government prioritized human resource development as a foundational step to seize opportunities for national advancement.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Sep. 26) during a graduation of 3,530 students of the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) in Phnom Penh.
In addition to human resource development, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that without skilled and trained individuals, Cambodia's progress would be hindered, as the capability to execute key tasks would be lacking. He noted that independence has empowered Cambodia to shape its own future, largely through investments in education, which have accelerated the nation’s advancement.
"Resilience means that even when external things are lost, our internal strengths—our thoughts, abilities, and understanding—remain intact, enabling us to rebuild the nation. The generation that endured war emerged to focus on building human resources. After the war ended 25 years ago, our progress accelerated, and the economy grew because of the human resource foundation that was established since the 1980s,” Samdech Thipadei stated.
Investing in education helps people to live independently and sustainably, he added.
Samdech Thipadei noted that despite global challenges, many sectors continue to grow rapidly, highlighting the importance of developing human resources for national progress. He underscored that Cambodia's resilience lies in its skilled workforce, which the Royal Government must continue to strengthen. He further noted that resilience, combined with ability and flexibility, helps people navigate challenges, while a strong knowledge base enables them to seize opportunities for continued advancement.
At the same time, the head of the Royal Government stated that the building of Cambodia's human resources is the basis that enables Cambodia to be competitive, flexible, adaptable, seize new opportunities, and also the basis for helping Cambodia to be resilient. Competing with foreigners in the world for growth at this point is the focus of the Royal Government of Cambodia to invest in education.
Samdech President Hun Manet affirmed that education is the commitment of the Royal Government of all mandates and the Royal Government of the seventh mandate must continue to invest heavily in the education sector in Cambodia to be stronger to build human resources with energy and Ability to participate in the development of the country with the Royal Government to aim for progress in all areas.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also reiterated that building human resources is key to making the country competitive, adaptable, and resilient, enabling it to seize new opportunities and compete globally. This focus on human resource development drives the Royal Government's commitment to investing in education.
Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed that education remains a top priority across all government mandates. In the seventh mandate, the Royal Government will continue investing heavily in education to strengthen Cambodia’s human resources, equipping them with the skills and energy to contribute to national development and drive progress in all sectors.
