Beijing (FN), Sep. 24 – Khuon Sudary, President of Cambodia’s National Assembly, expressed her pleasure at the remarkable momentum of Cambodia-China parliamentary cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally. She underlined that the fruitful results of this cooperation are a source of pride, founded on respect, trust, mutual understanding, and mutual benefit.

The president spoke on 23 September 2024 during a banquet hosted by Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC).

On behalf of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Khuon Sudary extended her deep gratitude to Zhao Leji and his delegation for their warm welcome and hospitality.

Khuon Sudary underlined that 2024 is poised to be a year of people-to-people exchanges, noting that the two countries have promoted bilateral interactions at all levels and across all fields. The relationship between the peoples, founded on mutual respect and understanding, serves as a strong pillar for sustaining and strengthening traditional friendships, fostering a strategic all-round partnership, and building a community with a shared future in the new era.

On the occasion, Khuon Sudary expressed her deep gratitude to the Party, Government, and people of China for their unwavering support for Cambodia.

For his part, Zhao Leji underscored that Cambodia-China relations have evolved over a long period, with all experiences of changing international situations having strengthened this relationship, making it as solid and trustworthy as a deeply rooted tree that brings mutual benefits.

He also recalled the words of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk, who once said, "The friendship between Cambodia and China is like a flower that never withers."
