Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 21 – Cambodian President of the National Assembly Khuon Sudary issued a letter to inform Lao President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane and Vietnamese Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man of Cambodia’s decision to withdraw from the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA).
“With reference to the Royal Government of Cambodia's decision regarding the conclusion of the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA) on 20 September 2024, the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to formally notify Your Honourables of the conclusion of the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Parliamentary Cooperation framework, effective as of 21 September 2024,” according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Sep. 21).
“We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincerest gratitude to the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for their relentless efforts and unwavering dedication in strengthening parliamentary cooperation under the CLV-DTA framework. We deeply appreciate the tangible outcomes of our trilateral cooperation, which have positively impacted the livelihood of our peoples, particularly those residing in the border provinces. Moving forward, we remain committed to fostering and expanding our traditional friendship and collaboration through bilateral frameworks and other multilateral mechanisms.”
