Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 19 – A meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Cherdkiat Attharkor, the outgoing Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, on Thursday (Sep. 19) at the Peace Palace, was detailed in a press release issued by the Spokesperson for Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister.
During the farewell call, Samdech Thipadei praised the efforts of the Thai Ambassador to Cambodia Cherdkiat Atthakor, underlining his contributions to the strengthening of Cambodia-Thailand relations.
The Thai ambassador commended Cambodia's progress in various areas, notably its maintenance of political stability and significant economic growth in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic.
The ambassador also expressed his gratitude for the development of strong bilateral relations, especially the elevation of Thai-Cambodian relations to a strategic partnership. He thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its close support and cooperation throughout his diplomatic tenure.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet acknowledged the ambassador's vital role and active contributions in enhancing and expanding diplomatic ties between the two countries, which were upgraded to a strategic partnership during Samdech Thipadei's official visit to Thailand in February 2024.
Both sides also exchanged views on cooperation across several sectors beneficial to both nations, including trade, investment, tourism, education, infrastructure, connectivity, and security.
Prime Minister Hun Manet also presented the ambassador with the Medal of Honor in recognition of his dedicated efforts during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
