Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 17 – Khuon Sudary, Cambodian President of the National Assembly, sent a condolence letter to Saysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, over the Typhoon Yagi tragedy.
“It is with deep sorrow that we learned of the tragedy caused by typhoon Yagi, which triggered severe rains, floods, and landslides, leading to devastation, loss of life, destruction of homes and infrastructure, and the displacement of many people in many parts of the Lao PDR,” according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Sep. 17).
“On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I would like to express my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Honourable President, to the families who have lost loved ones, and to all the victims affected by this natural disaster.
In this time of sorrow, we stand in solidarity with you and the people of Lao PDR. We would like to extend our heartfelt wishes for a swift and resilient recovery from this natural disaster.
Please accept, Honourable President, the assurances of my highest consideration and my most heartfelt condolences.”
