Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 16 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that the Phnom Penh Capital Administration will provide 500 public buses for citizens to travel to their hometowns or other provinces during the upcoming Pchum Ben Festival.
The premier spoke on Monday (Sep. 16) during a groundbreaking ceremony of Calmette Hospital's new buildings.
“During the Pchum Ben festival, many people need to travel home. I have instructed Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng to arrange buses for free transportation. These buses will be available for five days, from 30 September to 4 October, which includes the day before and the day after Pchum Ben. We have nearly 500 buses ready—497 buses to be exact—to transport people to all provinces,” the premier underscored.
It should be noted that this continuation of free public bus services under Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet follows Samdech Techo Hun Sen's tradition, offering clean, comfortable buses with drinking water during major holidays and election days, easing travel for workers and the public.
