Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 10 – Patrick Murphy, Representative of the US business delegation, provided details on the ongoing business mission in Cambodia, which includes five companies exploring investment opportunities and seeking partnerships to export Cambodian agricultural products to the US market, including cashews, rice, pepper, and dried mangoes.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by US business delegation organised by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in California on Tuesday (Sep. 10) at the Peace Palace.

At the same time, the delegation encouraged further cooperation in Cambodia's education sector. Notably, a US-based company has decided to establish a representative office in Cambodia to assist Cambodian students interested in pursuing higher education in the US.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the interest of US companies in exploring investment opportunities, facilitating the export of Cambodian agricultural products to the US, and promoting educational cooperation in Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei underlined the Royal Government's commitment to prioritising the agricultural sector through measures including tax incentives, agricultural modernisation, deployment of local technical officers, the establishment of modern agricultural communities, and improvements to logistics and infrastructure, all aimed at reducing costs and increasing the competitiveness of Cambodia's agricultural products.

Premier Hun Manet also encouraged the US business delegation to engage further with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to capitalise on investment and business opportunities in agriculture, education, and other potential sectors in Cambodia.
