Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 10 – The Techo Startup Center hosted “A Hands-on Training on Digital Products/Services” as part of the Enterprises Go Digital (EGD) program held on 9 September 2024 at the Techo Startup Center Headquarters, the event brought together micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) eager to enhance their digital capabilities.
Dr. Vong Rylida, Deputy Director of the Techo Startup Center, welcomed participants and emphasized the crucial role of MSMEs in Cambodia's economy. She also highlighted the importance of digital transformation in driving growth and innovation.
In partnership with the United States Embassy in Cambodia, Melinda F. Emerson, America’s leading small business expert and Founder of SmallBizLady Academy, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Taking Your Small Business to the Next Level with Social Media.” Her insights on leveraging social media strategies resonated with attendees, underscoring the increasing relevance of digital platforms for business expansion.
Following the keynote, participants engaged with 11 digital solution providers who showcased their innovative products. This was followed by an interactive Q&A session aimed at deepening attendees' understanding of the tools available for digital transformation. The event attracted almost 40 participants, including 17 women, reinforcing the significance of digital skills in enhancing competitiveness and innovation among MSMEs.
This collaboration between the Techo Startup Center and the United States Embassy marks a significant step toward empowering Cambodian businesses in the digital landscape, providing them with the knowledge and resources necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
The Enterprises Go Digital (EGD) Program is implemented by the Techo Startup Center, a public administrative institution under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. This program has three expected objectives: (1) Increase the provision of quality digital products and services by sector on the enterprise go digital platform, (2) Improve access to information, raise awareness of digital transformation, and provide training for enterprises, and (3) Promote the use of the Royal Government's digital platform.
