Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto have pledged to further strengthen and expand the relationship between Cambodia and Indonesia to benefit both countries and their people.

The premier received a courtesy call by Prabowo Subianto on Friday (Sep. 6) at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, the president-elect praised Cambodia's rapid and strong development across various sectors. He also underscored the excellent relations and cooperation between the two countries, expressing his commitment to continuing to strengthen and expand the Indonesia-Cambodia relationship, making it even closer and stronger.

Prabowo Subianto underlined the long-standing relationship and excellent cooperation between Cambodia and Indonesia. He noted that his visit would further contribute to Cambodia-Indonesia relations, especially as the two countries celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated Prabowo Subianto on his election as President of Indonesia and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely together to strengthen and expand bilateral relations.

Both leaders exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in various potential areas, including economics, trade, defence and security, agriculture, and tourism. They also discussed the possibility of increasing direct flights between the two countries.
