Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 6 – Cambodian Rice Federation announced that in the first eight months of 2024, Cambodia exported 412,023 tons of milled rice, earing USD 305 million.

According to the Cambodian Rice Federation, these exports were carried out by 53 rice exporters to 65 destinations, of which to 26 European countries, totalled to 208,207 tons of rice, valued at USD 161.70 million. Meanwhile, China, including Hong Kong and Macau, received 77,792 tons worth USD 48.87 million. ASEAN countries, including East Timor, imported 83,095 tons valued at USD 56.89 million, while 28 other countries—Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.—imported 42,929 tons worth USD 37.69 million.

Of the rice exported, fragrant rice accounted for 70.92 per cent, white rice 23.75 per cent, parboiled rice 3.13 per cent, organic rice 1.89 per cent, and other varieties 0.32 per cent.

Notably, total rice exports in the first seven months reached 3,318,592 tons, generating over USD 918.16 million.
