Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 5 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to king, queen mother, the monks, and people nationwide for their contributions to the construction of border infrastructure, particularly the extensive ring road.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Sep. 5) during a certificate presentation ceremony for nearly 2,000 law students and trainees at OCIC in Phnom Penh.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored, "I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the king, queen mother, the leaders, the monks, civil servants, armed forces, teachers, and all the people, both domestic and international, for their contributions to the border infrastructure fund, particularly for the border ring road."
The premier added that participation in the border infrastructure fund is not just about financial contributions but also about the collective effort in building this critical infrastructure.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet further underscored, "The border ring road we need to build is over 2,660 kilometres long. We have completed 1,300 kilometres, which is about 50 percent of the project, leaving 1,300 kilometres remaining. I signed a final plan at the end of July for a 10-year project under the Engineering Command, with a budget of approximately USD 200 million."
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that the participation from the public demonstrates commitment and support for the project. To date, nearly 400,000 people have donated to the fund.
