Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 4 – Cambodian President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his desire to see Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar collaborate to have some of their traditional cultures jointly recognised on the World Heritage List. This initiative aims to promote solidarity and prevent conflicts.

Samdech Techo received a farewell call by outgoing Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, Cherdkiat Atthakor on Tuesday (Sep. 3) at the Senate. As Ambassador Cherdkiat Atthakor completed his mission in Cambodia, he bid farewell to Samdech Techo and reflected on some of their shared achievements.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen informed the outgoing Thai ambassador that if the four Buddhist countries in Southeast Asia could jointly propose some cultural and traditional assets for inclusion on the World Heritage List, it would help resolve ownership disputes and promote unity. Additionally, this would serve as a positive example for future generations, reducing competition over the cultural heritage of one country or another.
