Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 2 – An Australian Navy warship docked at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Monday (Sep. 2), for a three-day visit to Cambodia from 2-4 September 2024. The visit aimed at strengthening and expanding cooperation, enhancing relations, and bolstering the solidarity between Cambodia and Australia.

The Australian warship, HMAS Perth (FFH 157) of the Anzac-class frigates, is led by Captain Ben Dalton, and carries 193 personnel, including 32 officers, 158 crew members, and three helicopter pilots.

Upon arrival at the Cambodian port, the warship and its crew were warmly welcomed by Admiral Mean Savoeun, Deputy Chief of Staff of Ream Sea Base, along with several other admirals.

HMAS Perth (FFH 157) is 118 metres long, 14.8 metres wide, 32.47 metres high, and has a draft of 6.4 metres. It has a displacement of 3,900 tonnes, a speed of 32 knots, and is equipped with an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Australia and Cambodia were established in 1952, and Australia has consistently supported Cambodia's development and peacebuilding efforts.
