Kampong Speu (FN), Aug. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet encouraged the next generation of Cambodians to develop strong skills in the Khmer language and mathematics to make it easier for them to apply for jobs.
The premier spoke on Saturday morning (Aug. 24) during an informal school inspection in Udong Mechey, Kampong Speu Province.
"Do not forget that mathematics and the Khmer language need to be prioritized. Cambodian children must learn to write in Khmer and excel in mathematics. These are crucial foundational skills," the premier underscored.
Additionally, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that about 80% of extra study time should be focused on mathematics and the Khmer language, with English and computer science as supplementary subjects.
Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei urged parents to cooperate with teachers in instilling discipline and good attitudes in their children, cautioning against spoiling them, as it could lead to future difficulties.
