Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts to ease the conditions for photography and streamline the visitation procedures at the Angkor Archaeological Park.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Aug. 22) on the occasion of the 1st Anniversary of the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly of Cambodia.

"In the past, I advised the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts to ease conditions for photography for national and international tourists in order to promote and enhance the promotion of national heritage and promote tourism in our country," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei also recommended that the Ministry of Economy and Finance transfer responsibilities to the Angkor Institute to simplify the process of identifying tourists visiting the temples at Angkor Archaeological Park. Currently, tourists are required to fill out an application and are sometimes checked while walking through the temple grounds, which can dampen their experience.

On the occasion, Samdech Thapdei added that by simplifying these conditions, tourists will have a more enjoyable experience, and officials working at the Angkor Archaeological Park will find their duties easier to perform.
