Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted that today marks the first anniversary of the new Royal Government. Over the past year, the government has successfully upheld peace, social stability, and the well-being of its people. He underlined the critical importance of peace for the Cambodian nation, urging everyone to collaborate in preserving it for the long term.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Aug. 22) at the “Celebration of Returned Khmer Artifacts to Cambodia” in Phnom Penh.

"The significance of this gathering lies in the fact that on the one-year anniversary of the Royal Government, we have successfully maintained stability, peace, and happiness for our people, allowing us to celebrate today," the premier stated. "This is possible because there is no war anywhere in the country, no division—not even at the grassroots level—allowing us to honour the spirits of our ancestors in a spirit of peace."

Samdech Thipadei underscored that today's achievements reflect the Royal Government's strong commitment and the importance of effective cooperation with other countries and the international community in the global effort to combat the theft, circulation, and illegal trade of cultural property.

Regarding national cultural heritage, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet noted that the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, acting as the Royal Government's lead agency in this campaign, has diligently researched, collected evidence, and facilitated tourism and cooperation with various countries and stakeholders.
