Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 16 – Cambodian President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Hun Sen sent a congratulatory letter to Paetongtarn Shinawatra on her recent appointment as Thai Prime Minister.

"On behalf of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and my own behalf, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to you on your election as the 31st Prime Minister and 2nd female Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand on 16 August 2024," according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Friday (Aug. 16)."

"As the leader of the Pheu Thai Party (PTP), you have been dedicating your life to public service and overcoming various challenges for a more prosperous and inclusive Thailand, which is a commendable and significant vision.

The bilateral relations between Cambodia and Thailand have reached an unprecedented level of cooperation, underscored by the signing of a strategic partnership agreement in February of this year. I look forward to fostering strong bilateral relations between our two nations and parties and to cooperating closely with you and your government on multiple sectors such as trade, tourism, and cultural exchange as well as regional issues.
