Kampong Chhnang (FN), Jul. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the enhancement of Khmer literature education for primary school students. Samdech Thipadei vowed to strengthen primary school education to a higher level.
The premier spoke on Saturday morning (Jul. 27) during his meeting with primary school teachers in Kampong Chhnang province.
"Khmer citizens must know the Khmer language and math. Otherwise, it will be difficult. Therefore, I instructed the Ministry of Education to include Khmer literature in the curriculum of some international private schools. […] Teachers and parents should consider that we only have two hours per day. If we take half of this time to learn English, we have only one hour left for math, Khmer language, and other subjects. We will add an extra hour for grade four," the premier underscored.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei said that the relationship between teachers and parents is important to understand the actual situation of students.
