Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 23 – Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA) agreement does not involve any provisions that would lead to the loss of national sovereignty or result in joint territorial integration with Viet Nam and Laos.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke on Tuesday (Jul. 23) in a special message on the CLV-DTA.
Samdech Techo condemned such accusations as baseless and intolerable, calling on the court to impose strict punishments on those responsible.
Samdech Techo underscored, "There is no agreement related to territorial integration. The agreement focuses on economic, social, security, and national defence cooperation, where each party maintains control over its own territory and development while contributing to interconnected and complementary growth."
In the special message, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined that the agreement not only benefits Cambodia but also brings advantages to Viet Nam. Cambodia and Laos provide agricultural raw materials that Vietnam processes. In turn, Cambodia and Laos benefit from each other through trade in electricity energy and transportation of goods.
