Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 19 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen sent a condolence letter to President of the National Assembly of Viet Nam Tran Thanh Man on the passing of Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

“On behalf of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and my own behalf, I would like to express our deepest condolences with profound sadness on the passing of His Excellency Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Viet Nam,” according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Friday night (Jul. 19).

“General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was an exceptional leader whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment played a pivotal role in advancing Viet Nam's socio-economic development and institutional modernization. His departure is a significant loss for not only the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, but also for the entire nation of Viet Nam. His legacy as a wise leader who dedicated his life to Viet Nam's independence and the well-being of its people will be remembered for many generations.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's steadfast dedication to strengthening Cambodia-Viet Nam bilateral ties has brought our nations and peoples stronger and better together, and for this, we are deeply grateful. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Your Excellency, his family, colleagues, and the people of Viet Nam during this difficult time.”
