Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 3 – Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia Shaharuddin Bin Onn pledged to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries.
Shaharuddin Bin Onn paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on 2 July 2024 at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Shaharuddin Bin Onn informed Samdech Thipadei the excellent relations and cooperation between Malaysia and Cambodia. He affirmed his commitment to enhancing and expanding these ties during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed Shaharuddin Bin Onn and his delegation, congratulating the ambassador on his appointment. The premier also extended a courtesy call to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet praised the progress of diplomatic relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia.
Both sides discussed the strengthening and expansion of cooperation in several key areas, including politics, security and defense, economy, tourism, education and vocational training, and people-to-people connections.
In addition, Samdech Thipadei and the ambassador also discussed promoting cooperation in establishing a halal food industry park to develop the halal sector in Cambodia, aiming to supply both domestic and international markets.
