Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 28 – Cambodia's Angkor Wat temple has been ranked 12th as the best tourist destination in the world by TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice Awards.

Ranked 12th, Angkor Wat is described briefly by TripAdvisor, "Angkor Wat is a wonder of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many people visit for the sunrise. There are a lot of great stories that tourists should know about this heritage site."

According to the latest report from the Angkor Institute, in the first five months of 2024, 472,258 foreign tourists purchased tickets to visit Angkor and Koh Ker temples, marking a notable 36.98% increase and generating USD 22,206,891 in revenue. Specifically, visitors from the United States saw a significant rise of 38.22% compared to the same period in 2023.
