Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 28 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), asserted that the free, fair, and just Commune/Sangkat Council elections, National Assembly elections, and Capital and Provincial Council elections, as well as the Municipal, District, and Khan Councils elections, have demonstrated the maturity and robust progress of democracy in Cambodia.

Samdech Techo spoke on Friday (Jun. 28) on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), held at the CPP’s headquarters.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen added that through the CPP's glorious victory in all these elections, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Cambodian people need the CPP's leadership role to move forward and strongly reject it. Serious about all the hostile actions of a handful of extremist opponents who seek to destroy peace, political stability, and cause social unrest in order to provoke another colour revolution.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen added that the CPP's glorious victories in all these elections clearly demonstrate the Cambodian people's desire for CPP's leadership. The people and the CPP strongly rejected the hostile actions of a handful of extremist opponents who aim to destroy peace, destabilize politics, and incite social unrest in an attempt to provoke another colour revolution.

On behalf of the Central Committee, Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended his deepest respect and gratitude to all compatriots who have shown unwavering faith in the leadership of the CPP and Samdech. He thanked them for their overwhelming support and votes for the party. Samdech Techo Hun Sen also expressed deep gratitude to the party's working group, provincial committees, and all officials for their hard work and dedication in serving the people and effectively fulfilling their responsibilities. Their efforts have contributed to the party's consistent victories.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that the CPP is committed to strengthening unity and national solidarity, maintaining peace and political stability, protecting independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, upholding the constitutional monarchy, and accelerating national development to improve the people's living standards.
