Singapore (FN), Jun. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that Cambodia and Singapore aim to expand their partnership across various sectors as the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations approaches.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet spoke at a banquet hosted by Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Tuesday (Jun. 18).

“Over decades, our ties have flourished and diversified. Regular exchanges of visits between our leaders and officials have always been made by our citizens. Tourism and education have enriched our mutual understanding and collaboration. As we approach this 60th anniversary of our diplomatic relations, we have ambitions to expand these exchanges across various sectors,” the premier underlined.

“Singapore has been a pivotal partner of Cambodia across various sectors, including trade, economy, infrastructure, development and people-to-people relations. Moving forward, we aim to deepen this partnership by exploring new avenues, including in human capital development, food security, energy security and other vital areas aligned with our shared priorities and future aspirations,” the premier added.

Prime Minister Hun Manet continued, “We deeply appreciate the Singaporean government's substantial contribution to Cambodia's human resources development, particularly through scholarships and diverse training programmes, as well as care and welfare extended to our workers. The Singapore International Foundation has also made multiple contributions through the humanitarian project in Cambodia.”

“Together, we are committed to our continued collaborative efforts to deepen economic partnerships, foster regional integration, support security and stability in the region, and enhance prosperity, well-being and sustainability of our people and beyond,” Samdech Thipadei underlined.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also looks forward to receiving the Prime Minister of Singapore to visit Cambodia. He stressed that his presence is a testament to enduring partnership and shared commitment to building a robust, cooperative partnership that meets the aspirations of the two nations.
