Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that for the sake of the people's peace and safety of life, it is crucial to prioritise not only the construction of buildings but also the environment and safety.
The premier spoke on Monday morning (Jun. 17) during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Twin Flyovers at the Intersection of Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard and National Road No.2.

On the occasion, the premier also urged to expand green spaces within the city to mitigate heat and greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in construction areas such as the base of the Chroy Changvar bridge on the west bank and the Moradok Techo flyover project.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei instructed the Phnom Penh Municipal Authority to prioritise investment in infrastructure, drainage systems, and flood prevention measures to enhance the city's resilience against climate change-induced challenges and minimize flooding in the region.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored the importance of clearing city streets to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. He highlighted efforts to enhance bus services and minimise the environmental impact, thereby enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Phnom Penh. Additionally, he instructed the police force to facilitate smooth traffic flow during peak hours, minimising disruptions to people's daily commutes.
